The formula behind it
Needed final score = (desired grade − current grade × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight. If the final is worth 20% and you have an 84% aiming for 90%, you’d need a 114% — which tells you a 90 isn’t reachable and your ceiling is an 87.2%.
